Summer must have fashion trends

Fashion trends play a very important role when it comes to style so if you want to look trendy and be admired for your fabulous fashion sense you need to keep up with the newest fashion must haves. Every season fashion designers are trying to reinvent the fashion scene by creating new and amazing fashion designs which stand out and allow people to "refreshen" their look. This summer season the fashion trends are abolutely amazing, nature and pastels being the main source of inspiration for the new designs.

Knowing ahead of time what's hot and what's not for the next season can allow you to recognise your wardrobe and keep certain fashion pieces which suit the new trends. This way you will be able to spare some money which you have saved for the renewal of your stylish wardrobe. In order to ensure you choose right as keeping up with the latest trends in fashion is not always easy, I have selected some of the summer 2014 must have fashion trends from which you can inspire yourself. The perfect outfit suits your style as well as new trends and body type so try to select the out styles which suit your personality and body best.

DRESSES

Dresses are a must have when it comes to any spring-summer season as they can offer the sytle, comfort and femininity every woman needs. There are a variety of dress designs you can choose from depending on the occasion, body type and preferences so choose the dresses which suit you perfectly. Go for casual over the knee length, maxi dresses, printed dresses, created out of fabrics which allow the dresses to maintain a fabulous posture while still allowing the body to breathe, fabrics such as silk, chiffon, etc.

SHORTS

Shorts are one of the most popular fashion item this summer and they come in a variety of styles and colours. You can choose shorts for casual as well as more formal occasions as designers managed to come-up with some incredibly stylish shorts designs. Select from tweed shorts with matching blazers to casual or even punk style shorts depending on the occasion and personal style. You can match these shorts with a variety of stylish tops so your outfit will underline your stylish and fabulous personality.

I have loved the dressy short as a skirt alternative for several years now, and Im pleased they have made it to the mainstream. They are becoming so popular that you can find them at all price-points and you can wear them for all different occasions. A classic black bermuda short can be even worn to the office.

Do go super fancy like Gywnetth Paltrow in her silver blazer-shorts combo or do a more casual look in a flowing top. A red carpet look or an outfit you can wear to dinner. One thing never changes: these look best in heels!

Do pair yours with a patterned top. If the top is flowy, tuck it in for the most flattering look. Pleated shorts can look even great with a looser top as long as the shorts are still fairly fitted and the shoes are tall. Something to keep in mind with pleats: they do add bulk. If this is something you are concerned with, skip the pleats and go for a flat front.

Do wear straight, black, mid length shorts in a nice fabric (cheap fabric looks shiny). They are the gold standard of the dressy shorts. They will take you anywhere: to the office (keep the length longer like Natalie Portman), to dinner or to a party. You cant go wrong with these.

Don't wear baggy bermudas or you could look wider than you are and not as dressy as you want to be, like Kristen Bell. Keep your Bermuda shorts fitted for the most flattering look.

Don't go too complicated or too trendy. I'm not sure what is going on here with Fergie but I'm not feeling it. Keep it simple and classic. A fun top is all you need. Too much pattern is too overwhelming and too many trends will make you look like a fashion victim.

Don't wear your shorts too short or too tight. Fit is especially important when it come to dressy shorts. Booty shorts look cheap as do ones that pull across the front like Blake Lively's do. For dressy shorts we prefer a straight, classic bermuda short or a trendy, baggier mid-length short.

SHIRTS
It seems that shirts have become a definite must have of the season and I couldnt love this more as shirts can be paired with a variety of stylish outfits from jeans to skirts, the look obtained being equally fabulous. There are a variety of shirt styles to choose from but it seems that simple style shirts are the ones to aim for so go for a simple white shirt as these shirts can be matched to virtually anything.

PANTS
Pants are one of the most comfortable fashion pieces you could opt for and there are a variety of styles available to choose from so they can match any occasion and body type. One of the newest comeback trends when it comes to pants styles are the flared pants which look fabulous and create a certain vintage look. However, these aren't the only styles you can opt for, classic and tight fitting pants are also in so make sure you have one of each styles if they all suit you.

Investments

  • A good versatile scarf that goes with the colours you wear most and look for silk crepe versions. They are usually easier to tie and more likely to stay that way.
  • Good eye glass frames. Don't however, wear them on a chunky chain around your neck. If  you must, choose something a little more subtle.
  • A well-made jacket in a 3 season fabric - light weight wool, fully lined with well sewn seams.
  • A good handbag that will last for years, big enough for all your essentials, but not too big.
  • At least one well made pair of pants (or a skirt for that matter) that you can wear for  three seasons.
  • A pair of classic pumps. Look for leather, heels no higher than 2 inches and a natural, versatile colour black, nude or grey.

Tips

  • Wear perfectly fitted clothes
  • Don't choose clothes that hide your shape
  • Leggings balance the silhouette. Wear it with a t-shirt, heels, flats and boots but with balance.
  • Don't over wash your clothes
  • Wear your best jeans or LIB (little black dress) for a date. Be sexy, sophisticated and confident.
  • You don't have to match your bag and shoes

Something to ponder!

Remember that beauty is not a state of perfection like the glossy magazines make us believe. BEAUTY is a living process.

Sit on your own in front of a mirror and just look at your naked face. If you look long enough you will see beauty. Regardless of your inhibitions, every single person has something beautiful and remarkable.

Accept who you are. Fall in love with yourself and make the most of yourself.

Everyday is a fashion show and the world is your runway. So always dress your best and walk with confidence.

Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.

Looking after your mind, body & soul is something that you owe yourself.

Style is a reflection of your attitude and personality.

Fashion fades, only style remains the same!

Select your thoughts like you do your clothes.

Fashion can be bought style one must possess.
